Feels wierd to be running a ESX server inside a virtual machine. A demo copy of ESX 3.5 is now up and running inside a VM I have created using err.. VMware Fusion. I also have a demo copy of Virtual Center running on an XP VM. Ain’t doing much of anything just about now. But when I get to work, I hope to get some NFS datastores and see if I can pull off launching a VM inside it… OMG…
I had to change settings in the VMX file. There is quite a bit of discussion around it in the VMware forums. Follow the breadcrumbs here

It would be time well spent if I can get some actual use out of this setup (Demo, trial, lab etc). Let’s hope so.
Thanks for the threads, I’m gonna have to try them out. I’ve had little success so far with running ESX in a virtual environment for testing.
