Finally, I got my Wii! Heard sometime a week ago that Best Buy, Target and Toys-R-Us were going to have a minimum of 12 Wii consoles. I was quite skeptical about it. However, I ended up shlepping my rearend over to Best buy at 7 a.m. The store was going to open at 11:00 a.m but I thought I’d check it out. There were 10 people already lined up ! So I sat on next to them and by 9 a.m., the line had about 50 people. At around 9:30, one of the guys came out and told us he only had 24 units. We took a roll call and the “unlucky” folks disappeared. At 10:30, we got our vouchers and at 11:00 we got our Wiis!
The nearby Toys-R-Us allegedly had 30 units and had about 200 people in line!
My Wii hunting is DONE.
Nice job. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a neighbor that has one and we’ve met for dinner, movies and Wii fun at least 2 or 3 nights per week. Do you consider yourself a gamer? If not, I’m curious to see how long you actually play it. I know a few people who bought their Wii as their first console and most barely play it at all anymore.
I’m currently PS3 hunting. :)
I use to be a “gamer” – playing PC games ALL the time. Now I may have lost that status. Come weekend, the Wii has proven to be a family fun event tho. What is funny is that my daughter wants to go to a real bowling arena more often now!
