So I hauled myself to the inaugural DC NetApp user group meeting. BTW is it the DC NetApp User Group or the MD/VA NetApp User Group ? I saw both versions in use — I think we are still duking that one out.
Great turnout. Over 60 folks showed up from the 80 or so who registered. There is now a yahoo discussions group for the users as well at dc_netapp_ug<AT>yahoogroups<DOT>com. NetApp gave out an XBOX 360, Oracle and Verisign made some presentations and the NetApp SE’s talked about FlexShare, SIO benchmarking tool, mrtg and cacti.
Ben will be glad to know that the users talked highly of his toasterview util. (GO Ben!). Toasterview is also featured in the Jan 2006 Tech OnTap Website.
