If you add a category via your blog admin page, it won’t be readily updated in performancing window. Just “tab” OUT of the category box and get back in — looks like it forces a refresh. I personally prefer an icon but that’ll do — if you know it does. If you didn’t, you’d probably give the tool low marks on this cause its not readily apparent.
One thing they can definitely add is to have the ability to manage categories.
