Netapp just a few days ago released ONTAP 7.2RC2, a point release of their OS to support their latest hardware offering, FAS 60×0 series.

Both of these filers also come with 6 on-board GbE ports and 8 FC ports. The FC ports can be wired either as initiators or targets. The PCI-X expansion slots also support 10GbE fibre TOE card. Assuming you can afford a 6070, a 10Gbe TOE shouldn’t be that expensive :). These new filer heads will also be their flagship hardware platform for their ONTAP GX technology.
